122WH Residents Association – Invitation to Join

Some residents at 122WH are exploring the idea of starting a Residents Association.

What is a Residents Association?

A Residents Association (also called a Tenants Association) is a group of people who live in the same building and work together to:

• 💬 Talk about shared concerns
• 🏠 Improve building life
• 👥 Communicate with the landlord as a group

Tenants in BC have the legal right to form this kind of group under the Residential Tenancy Act.

Why start a Residents Association?

We want to:

• 🧹 Help SAHS staff manage shared spaces like the amenity room and garden
• 🎉 Support building events like the Halloween Party and community gatherings
• 🤝 Encourage neighbours to help each other and build a stronger community
• 🗣️ Create a fair space for residents to share ideas and solve problems together

Next Step

We’re holding a meeting in the Amenity Room on February 28th at 11am to see if tenants are interested. If enough people support the idea, we’ll prepare formal documents and speak with SAHS about moving forward.
